Bakehouse

The simple Hong Kong egg tart (dan tat)

Verdict: Walk

Bakehouse’s sourdough egg tart is definitely worth trying when you’re in the neighbourhood. Bear the line-up, but the flakiness of the pastry makes it worthwhile.

Comments:

  • Don’t be intimated by the long lines that form in front of every Bakehouse location. They tend to move quickly, but then you worry if there will be enough dat tat for when you reach the front of the line…

  • The flaky base of the egg tarts were the star of the show. It does elevate the egg tart and is worthwhile to try.

  • Didn’t love the doughnut, though. Wished there was more filling inside to offset the thick dough.
