Comments:

  • The Noryangjin Fish Market is a definite “Run” for any foodie coming to visit Seoul. It is one of my favourite places because the market is so fresh and so clean.

  • Even relative to the rest of Asia, I found that this place was cleaner than and a cut above the rest.

  • What I really liked about this place is that you get the freshest seafood and can get up close and personal with the produce.

Favourite sashimi vendor - 2-55

Favourite shellfish vendor - 2-11

Fish used for sashimi / hwe @ stall 2-55

  • You buy it from the vendors directly, and they all have partnerships with local restaurants in the same building. So, you can go and actually have a sit down and eat your fresh sashimi / hwe, or your abalone, or any other types of seafood like crab that you want to get.

  • This place has multiple floors and for beginners it is quite overwhelming. To help you, let me recommend you 2 stalls where you can get the majority of your seafood needs:

    • Stall 2-55 (blue sign) for fresh sashimi

    • Stall 2-11 (blue sign) for fresh shellfish

Dried fish

Stingrays

Monkfish for display, with their prized livers

A lot of live baby octopus

  • I actually came back twice in a one-week period. I just love seeing the freshness of the food and all the kinds of ingredients worth trying.

  • There's so much to see, so much to smell, so much to eat, so much to do. I would highly recommend coming here.
