Patrice Pâtissier

Run

Passion fruit popsicle

Verdict: Run

Unfortunately Patrice Pâtissier has now closed, but if it were still accessible, I’d encourage you to put it on your travel plans. It was always difficult to only pick 1 thing on the menu, but you couldn’t go wrong with any of your picks.

City: Montréal, Little Burgundy

Address: Permanently Closed

Item: in-house desserts + pastries

Cost: ~$4-10/each

Lime granita

Comments:

  • I constantly saw posts about Patrice from Roselle - saying it was a must visit in Montréal. With COVID, they pivoted their business to ordering ahead + pickup.

  • Their take on Kouign Amann was my most favourite. Crispy, flaky layers with each bite. I crave this on the daily.

    • Chocolate chip cookie was okay.

    • Banana cake was interesting with their everything-but-the-bagel-esque seasoning, but not life-changing.

    • Scones were delicious.

  • Okay, onto the in-house desserts. So cool (harhar). These change up frequently. We got the passion fruit ice cream bar and Vert (granita). Both were complex with dynamic notes. Definitely could tell they involved some advanced pastry techniques

  • In the last few weeks before they closed, it was near impossible to reserve anything. I wish I had one more Kouign Amann to savour, knowing it would be my last…

Take out patisseries with their signature kouign amann
