Room for Dessert offers a unique dining concept featuring a 15-course dessert menu.
The experience begins with a comprehensive introduction and a guided tour of the restaurant's gardens, where they grow ingredients used in the dishes, emphasizing local sourcing and the beauty of Bali.
The menu exploration is teased by explaining the ingredients' role in upcoming dishes during the garden tour, enhancing anticipation.
The 15 courses are divided across three distinct dining areas, each with its own thematic ambiance and type of dish.
Options for accompanying beverages included wine or mocktails, with a special anniversary menu available featuring the best historical dishes alongside the seasonal menu.
The first dining area highlighted savory flavors in a light-filled, glass-walled room. The second focused on complex desserts, and the third offered smaller amuse-bouches to conclude the experience.
Room #1: Savoury Bites
Room #2: Dessert Plates
Favourite dishes were found in the dessert-focused room, described as works of art.
Despite the impressive commitment to sustainability and local biodiversity, the extensive number of courses was considered overwhelming, and while valued as a one-time special experience, it is not something planned to be repeated soon.
This restaurant barely makes the blog because although it had some great ethical and ingredient forward philosophies, we think the execution could have been improved.
