Café San Gennaro

Classic margherita pizza

Verdict: Walk

One of our favourite local eats when we visit Little Italy in Montreal (it’s a little bit of a trek from downtown & where we usually are). Delicious squares of pizza and let’s not forget the Italian desserts. Make sure to check if they’re open before heading over to avoid a disappointment we’ve felt one too many times. But when they’re open, you’re in for a treat.

Comments:

  • So far our favourite pizza in Montreal - it never seems to disappoint and Celine tends to having cravings once and a while for that signature crunch on this style of pizza

  • It’s a cute café with a bunch of standing room, which is what we enjoy - lots of people stay and relax while some people just pick up and go

  • The pistachio bombo is to die for - it has an insanely creamy, velvety texture without disrupting the pure pistachio taste that we all desire

  • The cannoli is also one of the best we’ve had in Montreal - super crispy shell, which means it was fresh and not sitting all day

  • Pizza wise, they have a bunch of pies that they sell each day: we got an Nduja one, a Caprese one, and some white sauce one - our fav are the classics with their simplicity
