L’Express
Verdict: Walk
It’s like being transported back to Paris - interior decor and the vibe just give off that aura. Recommend for a once in a while ‘back to Europe’ feeling.
Type: French
Location: Montreal, QC (Lower Plateau)
Item: House Ravioli, Cod and Ratatouille, Wine, Île Flottante Dessert
Cost: ~$30 per main, $10-15 for appetizers and dessert, $12-15 for wine by the glass (we found the bottles less expensive than most restaurants so were nicely surprised)
Comments:
Bread, butter, cornichons, dijon mustard all came with the meal and were all super pleasant. Water was nicely served at the perfect cool temperature as well.
Delicious authentic French food that delights the taste buds and makes you feel good at the end of the meal without weighing you down. We liked the ravioli in what seemed like a glossy veal and mushroom reduction.
Dessert was the highlight of the meal - was so worried it would be sold out after reading the Google Reviews. They mentioned that oftentimes they run out midservice. Definitely get the île flottante as it combined taste, texture, presentation, and portion.
Wine selection is pretty bonkers - they’ve got a ton of selection and the prices aren’t too crazy unless you’re going after a $500 Sassicaia. We enjoyed a nice light Brouilly from Beaujolais throughout the night, with notes of grass and pepper along with the obvious red fruit notes.
