Crispy Pork and Hoisin Sauce Banh Mi

Verdict: Walk

A hole in the wall find that’s worth a visit if you’re in the Melbourne CBD. Their take on the traditional French baguette was the perfect vehicle for the mixture of pickled vegetables and the crispy pork. Wonderful mix of textures; drool-worthy.

Comments:

  • Our first stop in Melbourne did not disappoint. Even walking down the alleyway to the hole in the wall was a vibe. You could tell it was a local spot.

  • Quick service - about 10 minutes to make the sandwich - and about the same time to finish it (let’s be honest).

  • We challenge you to take a bite of the full sandwich and get a little bit of everything in it. So many textures & tastes - with the crunchy crust to the pickled veggies, to the crispy pork (it’s just so aptly described…) and fluffy interior.

  • The exterior of the bread was super unique compared to the smooth traditional French baguettes used in banh mi sandwiches. Inside soaked up all the sauces.

  • We wish we got a sandwich each instead of sharing. There was a fight to the finish.
