Korean Seafood Pancake

Verdict: Run

Despite the plethora of Korean restaurants available in the CBD area, Jang Gun is definitely one of the favourites with a lengthly waitlist to prove it. Their Korean Seafood pancake is the best that J has ever had - and to create the contradicting crunchy yet gooey texture was certainly the work of a master.

Comments:

  • Absolutely delicious Korean Seafood pancake that proved the chef’s skill in obtaining the gooey and moist interior but crispy edges. The sauce was just the icing on the cake - umami and the right amount of salt & spicy. I stuffed myself full.

    • It was still amazing the second time we visited. Our friends agree that it’s the best they’ve had.

  • The tofu soup was really good and filling with lots of high quality ingredients. Doesn’t come with rice, so make sure to order a bowl.

  • Great banchan (side dishes) of kimchi, bean sprouts, and cold pasta.

  • Minimalistic location that was buzzing even at 11:30pm. Thankfully no waitlist at this time, but the sign-up sheet covered in red told another story a few hours ago.
